Core Curriculum Breakdown

From Menstrual Biomarkers to Restorative Prescribing: What You’ll Learn in 6 Hours

Part 1:

Standardized Biomarker Charting & Diagnostics

  • Physiological Biomarker Tracking: Use standardized menstrual cycle charting to map ovulation, identify the fertile window, and objectively quantify endocrine function with accurately timed bloodwork.
  • Standardized Codes of White Flow Cervical Secretions: Mapping cervical mucus observations as a direct proxy for serum estradiol fluctuations and tracking luteal phase length to assess corpus luteum competence and progesterone synthesis.
  • Biomarker-Driven Diagnostics: Implementing objective clinical criteria (including the “Rule of 5” biomarkers) to establish a standardized baseline for menstruation, ovulation and early pregnancy tracking.
  • Differential Diagnosis of Reproductive Pathologies: Identifying the distinct cycle charting patterns associated with luteal phase deficiency (LPD), Luteinized Unruptured Follicle Syndrome (LUFS), functional ovarian cysts, metabolic and ovulatory phenotypes of PCOS (now PMOS), endometrial polyps, occult autoimmune flare-ups, subclinical hypothyroidism, and anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB).

Part 2:

Pharmaceutical Prescribing Protocols & Precision Endocrine Management

Optimizing Hormonal Reference Ranges: Establishing ideal serum hormone parameters during the follicular phase, luteal phase, and throughout pregnancy, moving beyond broad laboratory “normal” ranges to target optimal fertility thresholds.

  • Precision Diagnostic Timing: Synchronizing transvaginal pelvic ultrasounds with the patient’s objective cycle biomarkers to accurately evaluate antral follicle count, dominant follicle maturation and rupture, and endometrial thickness/trilaminar architecture.
  • Targeted Endocrine and Immunomodulatory Pharmacology:
    • Luteal Support: Evidence-based prescribing of bioidentical progesterone therapy (micronized progesterone) and hCG trigger protocols for male and female factor optimization.
    • Metabolic & Endocrine Optimization: Clinical utility of desiccated thyroid therapy for subclinical hypothyroidism, and the emerging role of low-dose naltrexone (LDN) in downregulating reproductive autoimmune reactivity for men and women.
    • Adjuvant Therapies: Pharmacological implementation of mucus enhancers, targeted antibiotic protocols for chronic endometritis, and adjunct medications to optimize male and female factors.
  • Pharmacokinetic Drug-Herb Interactions: Evaluating hepatic CYP450 enzyme pathways to effectively co-prescribe botanical adjuvants alongside conventional fertility medications, while leveraging therapeutic efficacy.

Part 3:

Integrative Treatment & Multi-Disciplinary Co-Management

  • Integrative Management Protocols: Reviewing the clinical trial data for botanical extracts and targeted medical nutrition in the management of complex reproductive disorders, including severe PMS/PMDD, metabolic and ovulatory phenotypes of PCOS, endometriosis-associated inflammation, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis dysregulation.
  • Male Factor Optimization: Evidence-based protocols targeting spermatogenesis, Leydig cell function, and the reduction of sperm DNA fragmentation using clinically validated botanical extracts.
  • Evaluating Complementary Therapeutics: Understanding the physiological impact of conventional ovarian stimulation protocols on endometrial receptivity and oocyte quality and examining how Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) models approach microvascular blood flow and follicular health.
  • Acupuncture Mechanisms and Research Translation: A critical review of the current peer-reviewed literature regarding acupuncture’s impact on uterine artery blood flow impedance, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) pulsatility, and success rates during assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles, including precise clinical timing guidelines for pre- and post-ovulatory phases.
